Wax Recommendations (Swix Edition)
Monday – Slush Fest (High: 49°F)
Conditions will be warm and wet, so we recommend Swix PS10 Yellow (32°F–50°F). This soft, hydrophobic wax is ideal for warm, slushy snow and helps repel moisture for a smooth ride.
Tuesday and Wednesday – Transition Days (Highs: 30°F, 25°F)
As the temps drop, move to Swix PS8 Red (25°F–39°F). This medium-hard wax strikes a balance, providing solid performance as the snow firms up but remains damp.
Thursday and Friday – Bitter Cold (Highs: 10°F, 25°F)
It’s time to go cold-specific with Swix PS6 Blue (14°F–23°F). If the snow is extra dry and powdery, consider adding Swix HS6 Blue for added speed and durability.
Saturday – Snowy Warm-Up (Highs: 30°F+)
With temps rising and new snow possible, return to Swix PS8 Red for its versatility in warmer, fresh conditions. If the snow is particularly wet, swap to PS10 Yellow to keep your base fast.
Pro Tip of the Week
For Thursday’s cold snap, don’t skip the brushing phase after applying your wax. A stiff nylon brush will remove excess wax and optimize glide, especially on hard, icy snow.
